So, this past May 13th, was the day !
Yup, I fired up my new 2Stone oven for the first time this spring. It was the first real try out of the oven too. Sure, I got my new 2Stone pizza oven last October, but growing up in Canada, we get very bad winters, and October already has sub-zero temps, and so I never got to really try out my oven.
The day was warm, and there was no wind. I had a batch of dough sitting in the fridge, pre-fermented, and it was really wanting to get baked up into a delicious pizza.
So.... I got the 2Stone set up on my BBQ, fired it up, and let it pre-heat for a good 45 mins.
At about the 45 mins mark, I started rolling out my chilled dough, fresh out of the fridge, floured up my wooden pizza paddle, and got the dough onto the paddle, and started topping it with a run of the mill pizza sauce out of a tin, then proceeded with some mozz cheese, and some green pepper ( just on 1/2 of the pizza, because my children don't like green pepper )
After it was topped, I walked outside to the deck, opened up the BBQ cover, and quickly slid the dressed pizza
into the 2Stone pizza oven.
The rest is history.... the pizza was baked to perfection, and I'm sold. What a great device, what a great invention
my friend has created. Viva Las Vegas ? ... heck no ! ... Viva la pizza ! @ la 2Stone !
